N15,000 ARGUMENT ENDS IN DEATH OF SEX WORKER AT ONDO RED-LIGHT HOTEL
The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three individuals following the death of a commercial sex worker at a popular brothel in Akure, the state capital.
Trouble reportedly began when one of the suspects, after engaging the services of the deceased, demanded a refund of N15,000, claiming she failed to meet his expectations.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, the incident took place over the weekend at a brothel located in the Cathedral area of Akure.
Ayanlade explained that the sex worker had complained of fatigue during the encounter, which angered the client. The situation quickly escalated into a confrontation involving the brothel’s manager, the deceased, the suspect, and some of his friends who had come along to assist in recovering the money.
“At about 10 a.m. on June 29, the brothel’s manager reported a violent clash between a customer and a sex worker at A Division Police Station,” Ayanlade said. “The disagreement began when the sex worker reportedly became weak during their session and couldn’t continue, prompting the client to demand a refund.”
Police officers responded promptly, arresting three suspects at the scene while the victim was rushed to a hospital in the Lafe area. She was later referred to the Police Hospital in Akure but was pronounced dead on arrival. Her body has been deposited at the State Specialist Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
