NAIRA DECLINES AGAIN AGAINST DOLLAR AT OFFICIAL MARKET

The naira resumed its downward trend against the US dollar at the official foreign exchange market, closing the week on a weaker note.
According to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria, the naira depreciated to ₦1,539.24 per dollar on Friday, compared to ₦1,536.08 on Thursday — a daily drop of ₦3.12.
This comes after the naira had recorded a notable gain of ₦13.18 against the dollar on Thursday.
In contrast, the parallel market saw the naira strengthen, trading at ₦1,570 per dollar on Friday, up from ₦1,580 the previous day.
On a weekly basis, the naira appreciated by ₦8.12 at the official market and ₦30 at the black market, compared to rates of ₦1,547.36 and ₦1,600 recorded on Friday, June 20, 2025.
