The naira continued its appreciation against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market.

Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed that the naira firmed up to N1,418.26 per dollar, reflecting a gradual strengthening of the local currency.

At the parallel market, the naira held steady against the dollar at N1,480 per dollar.

This positive movement coincides with a rise in Nigeria’s foreign reserves, which reached $45.62 billion as of January 6, 2026.
