NAIRA GAINS GROUND AGAINST US DOLLAR AS WEEK BEGINS
The Naira started the week on a positive note, appreciating slightly against the US dollar in the official market on Monday.
According to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) data, the Naira strengthened to ₦1,453.84 per dollar, up from ₦1,456.72 at the close of last week. This marks a gain of ₦2.88 compared to Friday’s trading.
Meanwhile, at the black market, the Naira remained flat at ₦1,465 per dollar, showing no immediate change.
The uptick in the local currency comes as Nigeria’s foreign reserves rose to $44.26 billion as of November 21, 2025, providing some stability to the market.
The development follows a week of losses for the Naira, giving some optimism to businesses and traders hoping for a more stable exchange rate in the coming days.
