The Ondo G-4 chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has congratulated Professor Ebunoluwa Aderonke Adejuyigbe on her appointment as the first female Vice Chancellor of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo.

In a statement released by the student body, NANS described the appointment as a landmark moment for gender inclusion in academic leadership. They praised Prof. Adejuyigbe’s achievements in medical education and hailed her as an inspiration to young women across the country.

“This is a powerful recognition of her dedication and leadership in the medical field,” the students said.

NANS also extended appreciation to the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for promoting gender equity and supporting women in leadership. According to the group, the governor’s inclusive policies made this historic appointment possible.

“Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to diversity and fairness continues to move Ondo State forward,” they added.

The students pledged full support for Prof. Adejuyigbe’s administration and expressed their willingness to partner with UNIMED on initiatives that promote academic excellence and youth development.

“We are excited about the fresh ideas her leadership will bring and are ready to collaborate for the benefit of all students,” the statement concluded.

Prof. Adejuyigbe’s appointment marks a new era for UNIMED and sets a strong example of progress and possibility in Nigeria’s education sector.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
