According to reports, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is reportedly open to reducing Victor Osimhen’s €75 million release clause for Saudi club Al Hilal—if the transfer is completed by June.

Currently on loan at Galatasaray, Osimhen is expected to leave Napoli at the end of the season, attracting interest from the Premier League, Serie A, and Middle Eastern clubs.

Although Napoli no longer have the Nigerian striker in their future plans, they are selective about the clubs they are willing to negotiate with.

As reported by Serie A News, the current 2024/25 Serie A leaders may lower the asking price to €65 million for Al Hilal, though the final decision will also depend on the player’s preferences.

The report indicates that the Saudi Pro League has resurfaced as the most active option for Victor Osimhen. Should the Nigerian striker be open to joining the league, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is said to be ready to lower the transfer fee for Al Hilal, who are currently leading the race to sign him.

The proposed deal would see the release clause drop from €75 million to €65 million, but only on the condition that the transfer is completed by the end of June.

The report further states that Napoli are setting these conditions to ensure they have enough time to reinvest the proceeds from Osimhen’s sale to strengthen their squad before the start of the next season.

Victor Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has been instrumental in the club's success this season. He leads the Turkish Super Lig scoring chart with 22 goals and has tallied a total of 32 goals and eight assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.

His contributions have propelled Galatasaray to a five-point lead at the top of the league and into the Turkish Cup final.

Meanwhile, Manchester United continue to express strong interest in the 26-year-old striker.

However, talks have yet to reach an advanced stage, reportedly due to a “whim” on Osimhen’s part that is slowing down the process.

According to TuttoJuve, Reuben Amorim’s side are ready to pay the €75 million release clause in his Napoli contract and have proposed an annual salary of €15 million (£12.8 million) to lure the Nigerian forward.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
