The Lafia City Stadium, home to Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Nasarawa United, is set for significant renovation ahead of the 2025/26 season.

This development follows a recent directive from the NPFL mandating all participating clubs to upgrade their stadium facilities in line with league standards.

Clubs that fail to comply with the directive risk playing their home matches at neutral venues, the league management warned.

Key requirements outlined by the NPFL include a quality playing surface, fully functional standard LED floodlights for night fixtures, and a standby generator to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

The new NPFL season is scheduled to commence on Friday, August 22.
