NATASHA CALLS FOR COMPASSION, PEACE AS MUSLIMS CELEBRATE EID-EL-MAULUD

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has urged Muslim faithful to make peace, compassion and concern for others central to their lives as they commemorate Eid-el-Maulud, the anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad. She encouraged Nigerians to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings and apply them in their dealings with one another.

The senator said the celebration should go beyond religious observance and serve as an opportunity for individuals to demonstrate kindness, tolerance and respect for people around them. She emphasised the importance of extending support to the less privileged and vulnerable members of society.

According to her, the values associated with Prophet Muhammad’s life remain relevant to Nigeria at a time when the country faces various social and economic challenges. She called on Muslims and other Nigerians to promote peaceful coexistence and avoid actions capable of deepening divisions in their communities.

Natasha also urged Nigerians to embrace dialogue when dealing with disagreements, stressing that peaceful engagement remains essential to building a united and stable society. She encouraged religious leaders and political stakeholders to continue using their positions to promote harmony rather than division.

She further called on Muslim faithful to use the occasion to offer prayers for Nigeria and its leaders while seeking greater peace, stability and prosperity across the country. The senator said the lessons of Eid-el-Maulud should continue to guide people's conduct even after the celebration.
