NATIONAL HAJJ COMMISSION OF NIGERIA SEEKS GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS AND STRATEGIC INVESTMENTS TO REDUCE HAJJ COSTS
NAHCON leadership explores collaborative frameworks with international financial institutions and service providers to alleviate financial burdens on intending pilgrims and modernize pilgrimage management
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced initiatives aimed at securing international strategic partnerships and investments to significantly reduce Hajj operational costs for Nigerian pilgrims.
The commission's leadership disclosed that active engagements are underway with global financial institutions, Saudi service providers, and foreign partners to optimize the management of pilgrim funds, modernize logistics, and lower overall travel and accommodation expenses.
The development follows Saudi Arabia's approval to expand Nigeria's Hajj quota from 50,000 to 60,000 slots, underscoring the growing operational scale and the necessity for sustainable cost-reduction mechanisms amid fluctuating global economic conditions and foreign exchange volatility.
NAHCON emphasized that forming long-term international joint ventures and leverage-backed investment partnerships will allow the commission to negotiate bulk concessionary rates for transport, catering, and lodging services in Makkah and Madinah.
By leveraging direct foreign collaborations and institutional fund management models, the commission aims to create a self-sustaining financial ecosystem that insulates intending pilgrims from sudden price spikes and reduces reliance on government subsidies.
Commission officials reiterated their commitment to maintaining high standards of welfare, security, and administrative efficiency for Nigerian pilgrims while aggressively pursuing international solutions to make the annual pilgrimage more affordable and accessible.
