NBC SUPPORTS EKITI, KWARA BOUNDARY AGREEMENT TO ENCOURAGE INVESTMENT
The National Boundary Commission (NBC) has supported efforts by Ekiti and Kwara states to resolve boundary issues, describing the move as a step toward creating a more stable environment for investment and economic development.
The commission said a clearly defined boundary agreement between both states would reduce disputes, improve cooperation, and encourage investors to explore opportunities in affected communities.
According to the NBC, boundary clarity is important for effective planning, infrastructure development, and the smooth implementation of government programmes. It added that peaceful relations between neighbouring states can unlock economic potential and promote sustainable growth.
Stakeholders noted that unresolved boundary disputes often affect business activities, land use, and development projects. They said stronger collaboration between states would help create confidence among investors and support local economies.
The commission urged both states to maintain dialogue and cooperation as they work toward a lasting resolution. It emphasized that peaceful boundary management remains essential for promoting investment, improving governance, and fostering development across Nigeria.
