NCAA WARNS PASSENGERS: ALWAYS FOLLOW CABIN CREW INSTRUCTIONS
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has reminded air travellers to always obey safety rules and instructions given by cabin crew while on board.
Speaking on Television’s The Morning Brief on Tuesday, the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mike Achimugu, stressed that these rules are in place to protect everyone on the flight.
“You must always obey the cabin crew when you are aboard an airline. You don’t make the rules for safety in aviation,” Achimugu said.
His comments follow recent incidents involving Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM 1) and a female passenger aboard an Ibom Air flight — both of which he described as “very avoidable.”
While noting that the NCAA cannot prosecute offenders, Achimugu explained that airlines have the right to blacklist any passenger who poses a risk.
“You are not permitted to hit anybody. You are not permitted to disobey the cabin crew while aboard an aircraft,” he warned, urging passengers to maintain discipline to ensure safe and smooth flights.
