NELFUND CAUTIONS STUDENTS ABOUT FRAUDULENT LOAN WEBSITES
The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has issued a warning to students and the general public about a fake loan application portal currently circulating online.
In a statement released on Monday in Abuja, the Director of Strategic Communications, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, described the messages associated with the fake site as deceptive and misleading.
“The attention of NELFUND has been drawn to a fraudulent message circulating online, falsely claiming that President Bola Tinubu has ordered the reopening of the NELFUND Student Loan portal,” she said.
The scam message includes a link to a fake website:

Oluwatuyi clarified, “This website is FAKE, and the claims it makes are completely false. The only official portal for NELFUND Student Loan applications remains:
She urged students, parents, and guardians not to click on unverified links or share personal or financial details on suspicious websites.
Reaffirming NELFUND’s commitment to transparency and safety, she assured the public that all official updates would be shared only through the Fund’s verified communication channels.
Members of the public are encouraged to report any suspicious links or messages to info@nelf.gov.ng.
