NIGER POLICE ARREST WEAPONS WIELDING NOTORIOUS THUG, 26 OTHERS

Operatives of the Niger State Police Command have arrested a wanted notorious thug, Abdulkarim Mohammed, and 26 others, welding  dangerous weapons during a raid.

The operatives conducted a sting operation and raided some identified black spots in Minna, the state capital around Kafintella, Sauka-Kahuta, building materials road where 10 suspects were arrested.

They included: Rabiu Hassan, Musa Zaidu, Hassan Alhassa, Dahiru Mohammad,  Abubakar Yahaya, Awwal Muhammad, Sadiq Ahmed, Muhammad Audu, Hassan Usman, Abdulahim Jibril were arrested with some dangerous weapons including long curved sharp sickle, a digger, a stick with a shovel.

The spokesman of the Niger State Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the arrest in a statement, where he further disclosed that the suspects were undergoing investigations.

Abiodun narrated, “On 4th and 5th July 2026, Police operatives attached to Tudun-Wada Division conducted a sting operation and raided some identified black spots around the Kafintella, Sauka-Kahuta, building materials road and 10 suspects were arrested

“They include: Rabiu Hassan, Musa Zaidu, Hassan Alhassan Dahiru Mohammad

Abubakar Yahaya, Awwal Muhammad, Sadiq Ahmed, Muhammad, Audu, Hassan Usman and Abdulahim Jibril.

“The suspects were arrested with dangerous weapons such as a long curved sharp sickle, a digger, a stick and a shovel. During interrogation, they confessed that they had come from Yobe State to Minna for illegal mining activities. The suspects have been transferred to SCID Minna for further investigations.

“Similarly on 6th July 2026 at about 2:am to 4:am, Police operatives attached to ‘A’ Division, Minna, raided some black spots around PZ area, Angwan-Kaje, Saiko, Abdusalam Qtrs, Tudun-Natsira and Paida, where 17 suspects were arrested from their various hideouts mentioned above.

“Among the suspects arrested includef a notorious and most wanted thug known as Abdulkarim Mohammed a.k.a “Na-Kareemu” who has been on the run, evading Police arrest against some of the atrocities he had committed. The suspects were arrested with four cutlasses, two knives, cannabis and other illicit substances. All suspects are under further investigation,” the police spokesman disclosed.
