NIGERIA IMMIGRATION ANNOUNCES TEMPORARY DOWNTIME ON PASSPORT PLATFORM
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced that its Passport Digital Platform will experience temporary service disruptions due to scheduled system maintenance.
NIS spokesperson Akinsola Akinlabi revealed the update in a statement on Friday, explaining that the maintenance exercise will take place from 12:00 a.m. on December 12 to 6:00 a.m. on December 14, 2025 (GMT).
According to the statement, the routine upgrade is aimed at improving system efficiency and enhancing user experience.
“During this period, users may encounter downtime, slower processing speeds, or restricted access to certain passport services,” the statement read.
The NIS urged the public to remain patient, noting that the maintenance is necessary to ensure a secure, reliable, and efficient digital passport system.
