NIGERIA IS BLEEDING WHILE OUR LEADER REMAINS ABSENT.
Former VP Atiku Abubakar scathingly criticizes President Tinubu’s response to escalating insecurity. The opposition leader’s remarks come as violent attacks spread unchecked across multiple states.
Atiku is calling on him to declare a "state of emergency" on his own administration amid worsening insecurity and economic hardship across Nigeria.
In a statement delivered by spokesperson Paul Ibe, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar condemned President Bola Tinubu's continued absence in France as violent unrest spreads across Nigeria. The opposition leader characterized the trip as "a presidential holiday dressed as diplomacy" while citizens face growing terror attacks.
According to Atiku:
"Had this absurd announcement come just a day earlier, Nigerians would have dismissed it as an April Fool’s joke. But sadly, it’s no prank — just another insult to a nation pushed to the brink by a presidency that treats its citizens like fools.”
Atiku warns of Nigeria's collapsing security as over 100 are killed in Plateau/Benue, Boko Haram resurges, and desperate poverty spreads—all while the president remains abroad.
"While Tinubu dines under chandeliers in the land of good governance, the country he governs is spiraling into chaos. This isn’t just negligence. It’s dereliction of duty on a catastrophic scale."
Atiku condemned Tinubu's absence as a glaring failure of leadership and empathy during Nigeria's escalating security crisis.
“A leader with an ounce of patriotism wouldn’t need to be begged to show up in times of crisis,” Atiku said.
“Nigeria is in a full-blown state of emergency. So when, exactly, will Tinubu declare a state of emergency on his own disastrous presidency?” he added.
