NIGERIA PLANS SOVEREIGN CLOUD SYSTEM TO STRENGTHEN PROTECTION OF CRITICAL DATA

The Federal Government is taking steps to strengthen the protection of Nigeria’s critical digital information through a sovereign cloud initiative designed to give the country greater control over sensitive data and digital infrastructure. The move is part of broader efforts to improve Nigeria’s digital sovereignty, reduce dependence on foreign-controlled infrastructure and ensure that important government and national data are stored and managed within a secure environment.

The initiative is expected to support the secure storage and processing of sensitive information belonging to government institutions and other strategic organisations.
