“NIGERIAN DESIGNER TEAMS UP WITH META TO LAUNCH FIRST AI-MADE FASHION COLLECTION AT LONDON FASHION WEEK”
Nigerian Designer and Meta Unveil AI-Powered Fashion Collection at Africa Fashion Week London
A bold new chapter in African fashion is about to unfold—powered by artificial intelligence. Nigerian designer Ifeanyi Nwune, the creative mind behind the fashion label I.N Official, has joined forces with Meta to debut the world’s first AI-designed fashion collection at the upcoming Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL), taking place on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
The collection, titled “Transcendence”, is part of the brand’s Fall/Winter 2025 line and was created entirely using Meta AI’s creative tools—from the earliest sketches to final design details.
“With Meta AI, we are transcending an African future fuelled by unity, creativity, and technology,” Nwune said. “It’s a completely new way to create—from silhouettes to accessories.”
Blending Culture, Technology, and Innovation
This isn’t just fashion—it’s innovation in motion. Using Meta AI’s “Imagine” feature, the I.N Official team generated visual prompts and concept art that shaped the entire line. One standout piece fuses Nigeria’s traditional Agbada with Japan’s elegant Hakama—a symbol of cross-cultural creativity. These AI-generated visuals acted like digital mood boards, guiding the team on everything from fabric choices to accessory design.
Meta AI didn’t just help with visuals. Its search tools also suggested unique styling and accessory pairings that enhanced the overall theme of the collection.
Meta’s Vision: Empowering African Creatives
According to Balkissa Idé Siddo, Meta’s Public Policy Director for Sub-Saharan Africa, the collaboration is part of Meta’s bigger goal—to
make AI tools accessible for creators across the continent:
“This collection shows how Meta AI can help creators dream bigger, build faster, and bring bold ideas to life. And the best part? These tools are already available in the apps we use daily—WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger.”
Why This Matters
This partnership isn’t just about launching a fashion line—it’s about redefining the future of African creativity. By putting AI in the hands of designers, Meta is helping African voices make a global impact in ways we’ve never seen before.
The Meta x I.N Official collection shows that when tradition meets technology, the results can be both futuristic and deeply rooted in culture.
