NIGERIAN STAR IHEANACHO JOINS CELTIC ON ONE-YEAR DEAL
Kelechi Iheanacho Confirmed as Celtic's New Striker
Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has officially completed a move to Scottish champions Celtic as a free agent. The 28-year-old striker, who recently had his contract with Spanish side Sevilla terminated by mutual consent, has signed a one-year deal to join the Glasgow club.
Iheanacho's move to Celtic reunites him with manager Brendan Rodgers, whom he previously worked with at Leicester City. Rodgers expressed his confidence in the Nigerian, stating that Iheanacho "will make a big contribution" to the team. The signing comes as a crucial reinforcement for Celtic's attacking line after the departure of striker Adam Idah to Swansea City.
The transfer marks a fresh start for Iheanacho, who had a challenging stint in Spain. After moving to Sevilla last summer, he was later loaned to English Championship side Middlesbrough. Now at Celtic, he will look to revive his form and help the club defend their domestic title and compete in Europe.
