Stakeholders gather at Afreximbank African Trade Centre to chart a roadmap for sustainable digital healthcare adoption and public-private partnerships across Nigeria

Healthcare leaders, technology innovators, investors, and key government policymakers have assembled in Abuja for the Nigerian Telehealth Conference 2026 (NTC 2.0) to address major financing, regulatory, and infrastructure bottlenecks hindering the expansion of digital healthcare services across the country.

Organized by Mobihealth International in collaboration with digital health stakeholders, the high-level summit at the Afreximbank African Trade Centre focuses on establishing sustainable funding mechanisms, enhancing broadband and digital infrastructure, and developing a unified national framework for telemedicine adoption.

Speaking at the opening session, industry leaders emphasized that while digital healthcare holds immense potential to bridge medical access gaps in underserved and rural communities, scaling telehealth requires structured capital investment, interoperable tech platforms, and clear regulatory guidelines.

The conference agenda features strategic panel sessions on artificial intelligence integration, workforce capacity building, reimbursement models, and public-private partnerships involving key regulatory and health institutions.

Organizers noted that outcomes from the deliberations, including the proposed Abuja Declaration on Telehealth 2026, will directly inform input into Nigeria’s National Telemedicine Implementation Roadmap to ensure affordable, quality care is accessible nationwide.
