NIGERIANS NEED AFFORDABLE FOOD, NOT EXCUSES — PDP REPLIES APC
The Peoples Democratic Party has pushed back against claims that it caused the hunger facing Nigerians, calling on the ruling All Progressives Congress to take responsibility and address the hardship.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Mohammed, made the party’s position known in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday.
He was responding to comments attributed to APC spokesperson Felix Morka during a television programme, as well as similar remarks reportedly made by President Bola Tinubu in Kaduna.
Mohammed accused the ruling party of shifting attention away from the economic difficulties Nigerians are experiencing.
He said the government should focus on making food affordable, helping farmers increase production and providing meaningful relief for struggling households.
According to the PDP, the administration owes Nigerians a clear explanation of how it intends to improve food security and living standards.
The party maintained that trading accusations would not solve the country’s problems, urging the APC-led government to deliver practical results and fulfil its promises.
