NIGERIANS NEED PRESIDENT WITH COMPETENCE, CAPACITY, COMPASSION, COMMITMENT – PETER OBI
Peter Obi has called for leadership that understands Nigerians’ struggles and has the competence, capacity, compassion and commitment to address them.
According to the supplied report, Obi spoke on Monday night in Abuja during the inauguration of the Nigeria Democratic Congress’s 118-member National Presidential Campaign Council.
He criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying it lacked the qualities needed to tackle the country’s problems. Nigerians, he argued, deserve a president who is available, responsive and focused on their needs.
Obi said the country requires changes in how it is governed and how public resources are managed. He pledged that his party would work to address pressing challenges and rebuild public confidence in Nigeria.
The report identified Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as Obi’s running mate and said certificates of return were presented to candidates contesting on the party’s platform.
The campaign council inauguration followed an emergency meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee and the opening of a national secretariat in Jabi, Abuja. The office is expected to coordinate the party’s administration and presidential campaign activities.
Addressing supporters, Obi urged them to take the party’s message across the country. He also called for a free, fair and credible election, warning against the harassment of supporters and attempts to manipulate the voting process.
He said the party’s focus would be on making Nigeria work and restoring citizens’ confidence in their country.
