Nigeria’s economic future will be determined not just by its resources, but by how well its people learn, innovate, and adapt, says Obafemi Banigbe, Chief Executive Officer of T2.

Speaking as Special Guest at the 32nd Annual Trainers’ Conference (ATC 2025) of the Nigerian Institute of Training and Development (NITAD) in Abuja, Banigbe emphasized that continuous upskilling and technology-driven innovation are key to the nation’s long-term transformation.

He cautioned that if Nigeria fails to invest deliberately in human capital and innovation, it risks falling behind in a fast-changing global economy.

“The old model of learning once and working forever is no longer relevant,” Banigbe said.
“We must reimagine learning, work, and growth to build a prosperous, inclusive, and innovation-led society.”

Banigbe also highlighted the importance of Afrocentric content — solutions and ideas rooted in Africa’s unique realities — as a driver of both cultural relevance and global competitiveness.

The message was clear: Nigeria’s workforce must embrace lifelong learning, digital skills, and adaptability if the country hopes to thrive in the future of work and innovation-driven growth.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
