Aniekan Essienette, Group Marketing Manager of Ibom Air, has been elected Chairperson of the newly established Uyo Chapter of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN). She will serve a two-year term.

The newly inaugurated executive council also includes Dr. Samuel Etuk as Vice Chairman, Dr. Ini Smart Udoh as Secretary, Dr. Orok Asuquo Imagha as Assistant Secretary, and Mr. Aniekan Rupert Inwang as Financial Secretary. Dr. Emem Akaninyene Sampson, Dr. Aniefiok Okon, and Mr. Uwem Okon will serve as Treasurer, Welfare Officer, and Public Relations Officer, respectively.

Their election took place during the 2025 Annual Marketing Conference and General Meeting of the institute, which also marked the official launch of the Uyo Chapter in Akwa Ibom State’s capital.

Following her inauguration, Essienette expressed gratitude to the NIMN President and Council members for their support in setting up the chapter.

“I deeply appreciate the President and Council members for their unwavering support in making the Uyo Chapter a reality,” she said.

She pledged to uphold the values of the marketing profession, promote ethical leadership, and work collaboratively to establish the chapter as a center of innovation and excellence.

Also speaking at the event, NIMN National President and Chairman of Council, Mr. Idoreyen Enang, who officiated the inauguration, commended the planning committee for their work. He noted that the formation of the Uyo Chapter was a dream fulfilled under his leadership.

Enang emphasized that the chapter’s success would depend on strategic collaboration and effective execution. He expressed confidence that the chapter would enhance professionalism in Akwa Ibom's marketing sector and create opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing, and career growth among marketing professionals.

“The launch of the Uyo Chapter is a milestone for NIMN and is expected to significantly boost the marketing profession in the state,” Enang stated.

He urged the new leadership and members to remain committed and called on marketing stakeholders to support the chapter’s growth and activities.

“With the right leadership and support, the Uyo Chapter is well-positioned to make meaningful contributions to the marketing field in Akwa Ibom,” he concluded.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
