NNPC DISMISSES PUMP ATTENDANT, SUSPENDS MANAGER OVER ALLEGED CUSTOMER FRAUD
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Retail Limited has terminated the employment of a pump attendant and suspended a station manager following an alleged attempt to defraud a customer at one of its filling stations located in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
This action was announced in a statement released on Friday after a video capturing the incident went viral on social media, prompting the company to conduct an internal investigation.
According to the statement, NNPC Retail emphasized that the behavior displayed in the video was unacceptable and goes against the company’s core values of integrity, transparency, and commitment to excellent customer service.
Following the findings of its investigation, the company took the following disciplinary actions:
The pump attendant was dismissed from duty.
The station manager was suspended.
A formal warning letter was issued to the station’s dealer.
NNPC Retail expressed appreciation to the public for their alertness and encouraged customers to report any similar incidents using the official customer service contacts available at all NNPC service stations to ensure swift response and accountability.
