NO DRUNK DRIVING, PLATEAU FRSC WARNS VALENTINE REVELLERS

The Federal Road Safety Corps in Plateau State has warned revellers to avoid drunk-driving and other dangerous behaviours during Valentine’s Day celebrations.

The Plateau State Sector Commander, Adelaja Ogungbemi, issued the warning in a statement on Saturday signed by the Command’s Public Education Officer, Peter Longsan.

According to Ogungbemi, the directive aligns with the mandate of the Corps Marshal to ensure maximum safety on roads and prevent loss of lives during the festivities.

“We will not tolerate drunk driving, speeding, and reckless driving. Enforcement of these and other excesses will be sanctioned,” he warned.

He noted that ongoing public education campaigns are aimed at ensuring motorists comply strictly with road safety regulations, urging drivers to exercise caution at all times.

Ogungbemi further stated that the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, had directed all State Commanders and field operatives to intensify efforts to safeguard road users throughout the celebration period.

The Plateau Sector Command, therefore, urged motorists and other road users to prioritise safety and refrain from actions that could endanger lives.

Members of the public were also encouraged to report any emergencies or traffic concerns to the FRSC through its designated contact channels.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
