NOLLYWOOD ACTOR ADENIYI JOHNSON WARNS PUBLIC OF UK-BASED IMPERSONATOR
Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson has warned fans and the public about an online impersonation scheme involving someone allegedly using his identity.
The actor made this known in a post shared on his Instagram page on Tuesday, where he revealed that an individual reportedly based in the United Kingdom has been posing as him in private conversations.
Johnson shared a screenshot of a chat with the suspected impersonator and stated that he has no connection with the person or any activity linked to them.
He clarified that the phone number being used does not belong to him and urged members of the public to disregard any messages coming from it.
According to him, any communication from the impersonator should be treated as fake and fraudulent.
He said, “I do not know this person and do not represent whatever he or she stands for.”
The actor also stated that he does not currently operate through a personal manager or assistant for business dealings.
He therefore warned that any offers, proposals or financial requests made in his name through such channels should be ignored.
Johnson urged fans and members of the public to report the number being used by the impersonator.
He noted that such scams could damage his reputation and deceive unsuspecting individuals.
The warning comes amid growing cases of online impersonation targeting celebrities and public figures through fake social media accounts and messaging platforms.
