Popular Nollywood actress and plus-size model, Monalisa Ayobami, has sadly died following complications from low blood sugar and internal bleeding.

The heartbreaking news was shared on May 14, 2025, by Seun Oloketuyi, Chief Executive Officer of Best of Nollywood (BON), through a post on Instagram.

According to Oloketuyi, the actress's passing was confirmed by her sister.He wrote, “Brand influencer, Monalisa Ayobami Stephen is d3ad. She d!ed yesterday in Lagos after losing the fight against low sugar and internal bleeding. Her immediate younger sister confirmed the d3ath of this hardworking and beautiful soul.”

The heartbreaking news left Monalisa Ayobami’s fans in shock, as many took to social media to mourn her loss and celebrate the impact of her body positivity, which had inspired countless others.
