A group of Muslim women from Northern Nigeria has expressed support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 presidential election, saying his administration deserves another term to continue implementing its policies and development programmes.

The group, under the Northern Muslim Women for Tinubu, said its decision was based on what it described as the administration’s efforts to improve the country’s economy and address challenges affecting Nigerians. The women said they were prepared to mobilise support for Tinubu across communities in the North as political activities ahead of the 2027 election continue to gather momentum.

The group also praised the President’s leadership and highlighted policies and programmes it believes could have long-term benefits for the country. It said the reforms introduced by the administration should be given more time to produce results, while urging Nigerians to remain patient with the government as it tackles economic and social challenges.

The women further called on northern women to participate actively in the political process and support candidates they believe can advance their interests. They said their mobilisation would extend to different communities, with the aim of creating greater awareness about the administration’s programmes and encouraging more women to become involved in political activities.

The endorsement adds to the growing political support and opposition emerging ahead of the 2027 presidential election. With political groups already beginning to mobilise across the country, the backing of organised women’s groups could become significant for campaigns seeking to strengthen their grassroots support, particularly in Northern Nigeria.
