The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has dismissed five volunteer personnel in Kano over allegations of gross indiscipline and misconduct.

According to the command, the affected individuals were relieved of their duties following internal disciplinary procedures that found them culpable of actions deemed contrary to the agency’s operational code of conduct.

Officials said the decision was taken to maintain professionalism, discipline, and integrity within the corps, especially among volunteer and auxiliary personnel supporting security operations.

The NSCDC stressed that it will not tolerate behaviour that undermines its mandate of protecting critical infrastructure, maintaining peace, and supporting internal security efforts.

The command also warned other personnel to adhere strictly to rules and regulations or face similar disciplinary action.

Security authorities added that disciplinary enforcement is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen accountability and improve service delivery within the agency.

The dismissed personnel are expected to hand over all official materials and equipment in their possession.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
