NYSC ADVISES CORPS MEMBERS TO DEVELOP STRONG SAVINGS HABIT
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has advised all corps members to start saving part of their monthly allowance.
The Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, gave the advice during the swearing-in of the 2026 Batch A corps members. He urged them not to spend all their allowance but to save at least 30 percent every month.
The NYSC boss noted that many corps members struggle financially after service because they fail to save during their NYSC year. He encouraged them to open savings accounts and learn how to manage money properly.
The appeal is aimed at helping young graduates prepare for life after service, especially with the current economic challenges in the country.
Corps members have also been advised to take part in financial literacy programmes organised by the NYSC and partner banks.
