The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has advised corps members to use social media responsibly and comply with laws guiding online activities.

The NYSC boss stressed that while social media remains an important communication tool, corps members must avoid spreading false information, engaging in cyberbullying, or posting content capable of causing public disorder.

According to him, responsible digital behaviour is necessary to protect the image of the scheme and maintain discipline among participants during their service year.

He also encouraged corps members to make productive use of digital platforms for learning, entrepreneurship, and positive engagement rather than activities that could violate regulations.

The warning comes amid increasing concerns globally over misinformation, online harassment, and misuse of social media platforms.

Officials noted that corps members are expected to conduct themselves responsibly both offline and online throughout their participation in the national service programme.

The NYSC reiterated its commitment to promoting discipline, leadership, and responsible citizenship among Nigerian youths.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
