NYSC WARNS CORPS MEMBERS AGAINST POSTING HARMFUL CONTENT ONLINE
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has warned Corps members against posting negative content on social media, urging them to share information that positively represents both the Scheme and Nigeria.
Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, Director General of NYSC, issued the warning on Friday while addressing the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Corps members at the NYSC Delta State Orientation Camp in Issele-Uku.
A statement released via the NYSC official X handle on Friday noted that any negative posts on social media by Corps members could lead to sanctions.
Nafiu also advised members to avoid unauthorized travel and to strictly follow camp guidelines. “Follow simple instructions, be obedient, complete your biometrics, and participate in your Community Development Service. Learn and respect the cultural values of your host communities and do not misrepresent us at your place of primary assignment,” he said.
Earlier, the NYSC Delta State Coordinator, Mr. John Kwaghe, gave a camp situation report, revealing that 2,101 Corps members — 944 males and 1,157 females — had been deployed to the state. He noted that camp activities were progressing smoothly, with full participation from both officials and Corps members, who demonstrated high levels of discipline.
Brigadier General Nafiu has also encouraged Corps members to embrace the core values of the Scheme throughout their service year and beyond. Speaking to the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Corps Members in Rivers State, he urged them to be patriotic and to let integrity, efficiency, transparency, and commitment guide their actions.
