OGUN ASSEMBLY MEMBERS BACK SENATOR ADEOLA’S 2027 GOVERNORSHIP AMBITION
The majority of members of the Ogun State House of Assembly have declared their support for Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, who represents Ogun West Senatorial District, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2027 gubernatorial election.
A total of 20 out of the 26 lawmakers in the Assembly reached the decision on Wednesday, signaling strong internal backing for Adeola’s candidacy.
Speaking on behalf of the lawmakers at the Iwe-Iroyin Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, the Majority Leader, Yusuf Sheriff Abiodun, attributed their endorsement to Adeola’s track record, experience, and contributions to both Ogun State and the nation.
He stated, “I am also using this opportunity to declare our unalloyed support for the gubernatorial bid of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola.”
Earlier, the lawmakers had also endorsed Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 presidential election, aligning with several governors and key political stakeholders who have expressed similar support.
