OGUN COMMISSIONER URGES ENTREPRENEURS TO ELEVATE THEIR CRAFT
The Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Adijat Adeleye, has urged entrepreneurs and businesswomen in the state to enhance their skills and refine their craft to compete effectively on a global scale.
Adeleye made the call while addressing participants at the Deemakay Business Exhibition Season 7, held at MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta, the state capital.
She praised the resilience of entrepreneurs who continue to grow their businesses despite economic challenges, emphasizing that their determination serves as a key driver of community and statewide economic development.
The Commissioner also acknowledged the support of the Dapo Abiodun-led administration, highlighting the SME-friendly policies and business-supportive environment that have allowed initiatives like the Deemakay Exhibition to thrive.
She stated, “The present administration’s dedication to empowering small enterprises is crucial for sustaining platforms that foster local trade and innovation.”
During her interaction with exhibitors, Adeleye encouraged business owners to consistently provide quality products and services while adopting customer-focused approaches, including fair pricing, courteous service, and enhanced engagement. She noted that strong customer relations are vital for building trust, boosting repeat patronage, and ensuring the sustainable growth of small-scale enterprises. She expressed confidence that the exhibition would open new opportunities and further nurture the entrepreneurial spirit that drives the local business community.
Speaking on her part, the convener and CEO of Deemakay Business World, Adedamola Makanjuola, explained that the exhibition was created to add value to MSMEs and vendors in Ogun State, helping small-scale enterprises compete with counterparts in Lagos, Abuja, and other parts of Nigeria.
