PDP chieftain and community leader, Oguntoyinbo, has called on Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, to ban street trading in the wake of a fatal accident that occurred on busy Oyo roads.

Oguntoyinbo argued that street trading poses significant risks to public safety and contributes to traffic congestion, which can lead to tragic incidents. He urged the government to enforce regulations that prevent unauthorized trading on major thoroughfares.

The chieftain also recommended alternative strategies for vendors, such as designated market spaces and improved urban planning, to ensure that livelihoods are protected while minimizing hazards.

Authorities are reportedly reviewing safety measures and traffic management policies in response to public concern over the incident.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
