Oba Abdulkabir Obalanlege, the Olota of Ota in the Awori Kingdom, has been honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by City People Magazine for his remarkable contributions to the growth of Ota and the traditional institution in Ogun State.

During the presentation, Seye Kehinde, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of City People Magazine, stated that the award underscores the organization's dedication to recognizing individuals who have made a profound impact in their communities and professional fields.

“For nearly 30 years, we have used the City People Awards for Excellence to celebrate distinguished Nigerians. Oba Obalanlege stands out for his remarkable leadership, service to the Awori people, and tireless efforts to uplift traditional institutions in Nigeria,” Kehinde stated.

A distinguished academic and traditional ruler, Oba Abdulkabir Obalanlege - a Professor of Mass Communication - was crowned as the Olota of Ota in November 2017. Over the past six years, his visionary leadership has transformed Ota and the Awori Kingdom through impactful socio-economic programs and cultural revitalization initiatives.

As a testament to his influence, Oba Obalanlege currently serves in dual leadership capacities: as Chairman of both the Awori Obas Forum in Ogun State and the Ado-Odo/Ota Traditional Council, where he continues to champion unity and progress across the region.
