Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has called on traditional rulers across Nigeria to prioritise peace and drive rapid development within their domains.

He appealed for the installation of the new Odemo of Isara Kingdom, Oba Peter Ogunbayo, urging monarchs to complement government efforts and improve living standards at the grassroots.

Obasanjo stressed that traditional rulers must go beyond preserving culture to actively mobilise their communities for socio-economic growth, unity, and progress.

He also encouraged the new monarch to foster harmony among residents and neighbouring communities while serving as a father figure to all.

The event was attended by key figures, including Dapo Abiodun, whom Obasanjo commended for approving the installation.

Also speaking, the Akarigbo of Remoland, Babatunde Ajayi, advised the monarch to reconcile with other contenders and promote peace in the kingdom.

In his acceptance speech, Oba Ogunbayo pledged inclusive leadership and announced plans to establish a Royal Economic Advisory Council to drive development initiatives in Isara Remo.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
