ONDO GOV AIYEDATIWA DECLARES JUDICIARY CORNERSTONE OF DEMOCRACY
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has described the judiciary as the cornerstone of democracy, emphasizing that fairness, equity, and justice are vital for sustaining society.
He made this known while addressing a large crowd at Democracy Park, Akure, during a grand reception organized in his honour following the Supreme Court judgment that upheld his election.
Aiyedatiwa expressed deep gratitude to God, the people of Ondo State, and everyone who stood by him during the legal battle. He praised his legal team for their professionalism and commended the judiciary for delivering justice without fear or favour.
The governor also lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, noting that “when a good leader directs the affairs of a nation, fairness and equity prevail.”
“I sincerely thank the people of Ondo State for entrusting us with their mandate and for standing by us during both the election and the court process. This victory is not mine alone; it belongs to every citizen of this state,” he declared.
In his goodwill message, the Director of Corporate Affairs of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, described the judgment as a triumph for the people, assuring them that their votes were not wasted.
Former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Abdulazeez Oluboyo, also commended Aiyedatiwa for his historic statewide victory, pledging that the administration would deliver quality leadership and the dividends of democracy.
Similarly, former Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs Omowumi Ohwovoriole, described the verdict as the final word on the last election, expressing confidence that the governor would bring progress, peace, and stability to the state.
Dignitaries at the event included Deputy Governor Dr. Olayide Adelami, First Lady Mrs. Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa, Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, Secretary to the State Government Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, Chief of Staff Prince Segun Omojuwa, members of the State Executive Council, APC leaders, and chairmen of local governments and LCDAs, among other prominent personalities.
