Former Super Eagles captain, Sunday Oliseh, has advised Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen to seek divine guidance amid ongoing challenges in his football career.

Oliseh’s remarks come after the 26-year-old completed a permanent move to Turkish club Galatasaray, having failed to secure a transfer to any Premier League side despite interest from top teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United.

In a video shared online, Oliseh expressed optimism about Osimhen’s future, stating that major clubs could still come calling—especially if Nigeria secures qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

"Victor needs to pray," Oliseh said. "He must ensure Nigeria qualifies for the next World Cup. He has to lead the team even more now. If Nigeria makes it and he performs well, clubs will overlook the current controversies surrounding him. Without that, he might face difficulties."

As it stands, Nigeria is in fourth place in Group C of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, trailing behind South Africa, Rwanda, and Benin Republic.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
