British journalist Pete O’Rourke has shared fresh insight into a possible transfer involving Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, suggesting that Liverpool could make a move for the Napoli forward.

O’Rourke noted that Osimhen remains a target for several top European clubs, including Liverpool. His update comes after the collapse of a potential transfer to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal earlier this summer.

The 26-year-old Super Eagles star is reportedly being considered by Liverpool as a potential replacement for Darwin Nunez, whose departure from Anfield is becoming increasingly likely.

Speaking on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, O’Rourke said:

“Victor Osimhen is heading into the final year of his contract at Napoli. Galatasaray have shown interest in signing him permanently, but Napoli would rather sell now than risk losing him for free.

Al-Hilal made several bids for Osimhen, but the player appears determined to remain in Europe.

Liverpool are among the clubs linked with Osimhen, particularly if Darwin Nunez ends up leaving this summer.”

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
