OSUN: AMBO UNSTOPPABLE IN RACE TO UNSEAT ADELEKE, SAYS JIBRIN
Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, is unstoppable in his bid to unseat Governor Ademola Adeleke in the August 15 governorship election.
Jibrin made the declaration after a meeting of the APC National Campaign Council for the Osun governorship election in Abuja, where members of the council reviewed the party’s campaign strategy and reaffirmed their commitment to securing victory for the APC.
The meeting was chaired by Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma, while Jibrin served as Secretary of the campaign council.
The meeting, held at the Kano State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, was attended by members of the campaign council and its various subcommittees.
Jibrin said the gathering further demonstrated the determination of the APC leadership and its campaign structures to deliver Osun State to the ruling party.
According to him, the party’s campaign council is encouraged by what he described as the growing support for Oyebamiji across the state’s 30 local government areas.
The Deputy Senate President expressed confidence that the APC candidate would emerge victorious at the poll, saying the party had continued to consolidate its support base ahead of election day.
“With the overwhelming support of the good people of Osun State across all 30 local government areas, we are confident that, by the grace of God, our candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), will emerge victorious in the governorship election scheduled for August 15 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),” Jibrin said.
The APC chieftain also thanked the people of Osun State for what he described as their increasing confidence in Oyebamiji and the party.
He said the campaign council remained focused on translating the support into electoral victory for the APC, while urging party members and supporters to remain united and committed to the campaign until the final votes are cast.
Jibrin’s declaration comes as the APC intensifies its efforts to wrest control of Osun from the incumbent administration led by Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The party has been mobilising its national leadership, governors, lawmakers and grassroots structures in a bid to strengthen Oyebamiji’s candidacy ahead of the election.
The Deputy Senate President said the Abuja meeting provided an opportunity for members of the campaign council and its subcommittees to strengthen coordination and reaffirm their collective resolve to win the election.
He maintained that the APC was confident of its prospects in the state, citing the support it believes Oyebamiji has garnered across the local government areas.
With the election drawing closer, Jibrin’s message was emphatic: the APC is determined to make Osun its next electoral victory.
“Osun: AMBO is coming,” the Deputy Senate President declared.
