The Jigawa State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced the interception of over 1,300 kilograms of illicit drugs between April 2025 and now.

This was disclosed by the State Commandant, Musa Maina, during a rally marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Maina emphasized that the fight against drug abuse requires collective effort to build a healthier and more productive society. He noted that with support from other security agencies, the command successfully carried out the seizures.

He called on the public to assist the agency by providing credible information about drug traffickers and their locations.

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Jigawa State Committee on Drug Abuse and Control, Alhaji Khadi Bashir Birnin Kudu, said the initiative aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
