OYEBAMIJI SEEKS OONI OF IFE’S BLESSINGS AHEAD OF OSUN ELECTION
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has sought royal blessings from the Ooni of Ife ahead of the August 15, 2026, governorship election.
During a courtesy visit to the palace in Ile-Ife, Oyebamiji said his ambition is rooted in service, accountability, and commitment to the development of Osun State.
He pledged not to betray public trust if elected and promised to work diligently for the progress of both Ile-Ife and the wider state.
Oyebamiji also commended the Ooni for promoting Yoruba unity and preserving cultural heritage, describing Ile-Ife as a symbol of historical and spiritual significance.
He revealed that his visit was influenced by advice from Bola Tinubu, who encouraged him to seek traditional blessings before launching his campaign.
In response, the Ooni, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, praised Oyebamiji for showing humility and respect for traditional institutions.
The monarch, however, urged politicians to prioritise unity and avoid actions that could deepen political divisions, stressing that leadership should be anchored on service and responsibility.
He added that leaders must justify the blessings they receive through good governance and meaningful impact on the people.
