OYO ABDUCTION: EIGHT SCHOOLCHILDREN, TEACHER STILL ON ADMISSION – HOSPITAL CMDADE,MOL

The Chief Medical Director of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Prof Olawale Olakulehin, has announced that eight schoolchildren and one teacher out of 44 rescued kidnap victims are still on admission in the hospital.

Olakulehin made this announcement during an interactive session with the newsmen in his office in Ogbomoso, on Wednesday.

It had been reported that over 40 schoolchildren and their teachers were kidnapped, on Friday, May 15, 2026, and were rescued unharmed on Friday, July 10, 2026, by a joint security agency comprising the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Western Security Network codenamed Amotekun, vigilante group, hunters and others.

Speaking further, Olakulehin said, “One of the pupils who was diagnosed of congenital heart defect is receiving adequate medical attention.

“We have discharged 35 out of the 44 rescued kidnap victims, including the teachers and the pupils who were on admission in the hospital, having been certified medically fit.

“A total number of 39 pupils and five teachers including the principal of the Community Grammar School, Ahoro Esienle, Mrs Racheal Alamu were brought to the hospital for further medical treatment.

One of the pupils was diagnosed of congenital heart defect while others are diagnosed of various ailments. Those certified medically have been discharged and released to their parents and relations.

“Their release and reunion with their parents and relations is another form of psychological healing process. Meanwhile, other victims who are still on admission are being closely monitored. They will be discharged whenever they are certified fit.”
