The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Moses Adeyemo, has attributed the recent improvement in electricity supply across Nigeria to the Bola Tinubu administration’s efforts to revive critical sectors of the economy.

Adeyemo made the statement on Tuesday when the Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, visited the APC Secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, as part of a thank-you visit.

The Oyo APC chairman expressed confidence in Tegbe’s ability to address challenges in the power sector, saying Nigerians deserved reliable electricity.

Tegbe, who assumed office in July 2026 after the resignation of former minister Bayo Adelabu, thanked President Tinubu for giving him the responsibility of addressing challenges in the sector.

The minister also acknowledged the support he received from APC leaders and stakeholders in Oyo State following his appointment.

Tegbe said the Federal Government was working on several power projects across the country and expressed confidence that ongoing projects would contribute to more reliable electricity supply.

He mentioned plans to install solar-powered street lights along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and construct mini solar grids at six locations in Oyo State.

He also said the power project in Ogbomoso was nearing completion, while another project in Saki was receiving attention to address electricity challenges in the Oke-Ogun and Ibarapa areas.

Tegbe further stated that he had begun discussions with aggrieved gubernatorial aspirants in the state, expressing confidence that outstanding issues within the party would be resolved.

He also said the APC would continue working with support groups ahead of the 2027 elections.
