OYO GOVERNMENT WARNS STUDENTS AGAINST EXAM MALPRACTICE DURING NECO
The Oyo State Government has issued a strong warning to students across the state, urging them to steer clear of any form of malpractice as the National Examination Council (NECO) exams continue.
The Chairman of the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission, Oladipo Olubukola, delivered the warning during a monitoring exercise that took her team to several secondary schools across different zones on Wednesday and Thursday.
Olubukola emphasized that cheating in examinations could jeopardize the future of students, advising them instead to focus on their studies. “Face your academics, as this will foster your development and open doors to the universities of your choice,” she said.
She also reminded both teachers and students that Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration has zero tolerance for examination malpractices, stressing that anyone caught would face appropriate disciplinary action.
“The government remains committed to maintaining high academic standards. This is why we are working closely with relevant authorities to ensure that cases of malpractice are thoroughly investigated and dealt with,” she added.
During the visit, the team inspected ongoing NECO exams at Ibadan Grammar School, St. Anne’s School, Olubi Memorial Grammar School, and Saint Luke’s College.
The Principal of Ibadan Grammar School, Ogunleye Biodun, expressed appreciation to Governor Makinde for making education a top priority in Oyo State.
As NECO examinations progress across the state, the government is sending a clear message: integrity and hard work must guide students on their academic journey.
