OYO REP DECLARES SENATORIAL AMBITION
The lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Chairman of the House Committee on the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Aderemi Oseni, has declared his intention to contest the Oyo South Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.
Oseni made his declaration during a meeting with the Ibarapa APC Elders’ and Leaders’ Forum, including members of the G9 and expanded G64 caucus, held at the party secretariat in Eruwa, Ibarapa East Local Government Area.
The G9 and G64 groups comprise key political stakeholders from Ibarapa East, Ibarapa Central, and Ibarapa North local government areas.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Idowu Ayodele, Oseni said his ambition is based on continuity of service and expanding his record of performance.
He described his aspiration as a responsibility driven by a commitment to grassroots development and inclusive governance.
“This aspiration is not built on mere rhetoric, but on the continuity and expansion of a proven track record of quality representation and grassroots-oriented governance,” he said.
Oseni added that his ambition is a “divine call to serve,” stressing that it is aimed at delivering more development and relief to constituents.
He also assured party leaders that he would not betray the trust placed in him, saying his political journey is anchored on progressive ideals.
The lawmaker further called on party stakeholders to support efforts aimed at securing one million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
Leaders at the meeting praised Oseni’s performance in the House of Representatives, describing him as a unifying figure with strong grassroots acceptance across political divides.
They also commended his leadership role in the FERMA Committee and his contributions to strengthening party structures in the constituency.
