OYO TRAINS 80 CIVIL SERVANTS IN DIGITAL SKILLS TO IMPROVE EFFICIENCY

The Oyo State Government has trained 80 civil servants in basic computer operations and applications as part of efforts to strengthen digital competence and improve efficiency across the state’s public service. The three-week intensive programme was designed to equip participants with practical skills needed to function effectively in an increasingly technology-driven work environment.

The training focused on essential computer skills and applications that civil servants require in carrying out their daily responsibilities. The initiative is expected to help participants improve their productivity, adapt to modern workplace demands and make better use of digital tools in the delivery of government services.

The programme forms part of broader efforts by the Oyo State Government to develop the capacity of its workforce and modernise public administration. By improving employees’ digital knowledge, the government aims to reduce challenges associated with limited computer literacy and strengthen the efficiency of its Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

The development also comes amid increasing efforts by governments across Nigeria to integrate technology into public-sector operations. Digital skills have become increasingly important as public institutions adopt electronic systems for communication, documentation, administration and service delivery.
