PANTAMI VOWS TO EXPOSE THOSE PLOTTING TO SCUTTLE HIS 2027 GOMBE GOVERNORSHIP BID
Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, has appealed to his supporters to remain prayerful and focused as uncertainty continues over his participation in the 2027 Gombe governorship election.
Pantami urged them not to be distracted by critics, saying those he accused of working against his candidacy would eventually be exposed.
The former minister’s political ambition has faced several challenges since he left the All Progressives Congress after the party adopted Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna as its consensus governorship candidate.
He subsequently joined the Peoples Democratic Party and secured its governorship ticket on May 26, 2026.
However, fellow aspirant Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki challenged the primary in court. The Federal High Court in Gombe nullified the exercise and ordered a fresh primary, which Pantami also won.
Further uncertainty followed a September 24 Supreme Court judgment concerning candidates whose names were absent from party membership registers submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission within the required period.
Although Pantami appeared on INEC’s August 29 candidate list, his name was missing from a revised list released in October.
He had previously reassured supporters that the omission would be resolved, describing it as a temporary electoral setback.
His latest appeal comes as supporters await clarity on his candidacy.
