PARALLEX BANK SUPPORTS LAGOS ATHLETES WITH N10M

Parallex Bank has donated N10 million to support athletes representing Lagos State at national and international sporting competitions, as part of its commitment to youth development and sports excellence.

The bank made the announcement on Friday during a ceremony held at the Lagos State Sports Commission in Surulere. The funds will be used to provide training equipment, competition kits, medical support, and logistical assistance to athletes preparing for major events, including the National Sports Festival and other international tournaments.

Parallex Bank Managing Director, Mr. Gbenga Oyebode, said the donation reflects the bank’s belief in the power of sports to inspire and empower young people. “We are proud to partner with the Lagos State Government in nurturing talent and promoting excellence among our athletes. Sports development is key to building a stronger and more united nation,” Oyebode stated.

Lagos State Sports Commission Chairman, Mr. Adebayo Ogunleye, expressed gratitude for the bank’s intervention. “This generous support will go a long way in enhancing the preparation and performance of our athletes. We appreciate Parallex Bank’s commitment to the development of sports in Lagos State,” Ogunleye noted.

The donation is part of Parallex Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives focused on youth empowerment, education, and community development. The bank has consistently supported various sporting activities and grassroots talent discovery programmes across the country.

Athletes and coaches at the event hailed the gesture as a morale booster, noting that financial support from the private sector is crucial for Nigeria’s sporting success on the global stage.
